Unless specified otherwise, the content of the web site is under double licensing FAL/GFDL: you can use/modify/distribute... as long as you respect the terms of one of theses licenses.

[edit] Why not just using GFDL as wikipedia does

Because GFDL is bad solution for this project. It seems to be good for programming code documentations but not for Ekopedia texts. Here is an complementary point of view: Why Wikitravel isn't GFDL.

[edit] Why using FAL

Because FAL is the licence of the first Ekopedia project (fr) since 2002 and also because FAL is a good license for what we do. We are not lawyers but all the specialists of this domain we have contacted are ok to say that this is a good choice.

Also, next version of FAL (1.3) will probably be compatible with CC BY-SA 3.0.
