[edit] Production
The weaving is done with a weaving loom, by assembly of a thread network (called warp) and an other network, placed at square angle (called woof). These two networks create a framework : it's the cloth.
[edit] Usage
Textiles are used for clothes, for household (tablecloths, curtains...) and for technical applications (filtration, parachutes, composite materials, medicine...). The material can be:
- natural (vegetal, organic...)
- mineral (think about the old coat of mail)
- synthetic (polyamid, polyacrylic...)
[edit] Vegetal fibers
[edit] Animal fibers
[edit] "Technical fibers"
- Aramids

- Metals (stainless steel, copper)
